Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure highlights initiatives, projects at Middle East Energy 2026

DUBAI, 2nd September, 2026 (WAM) — The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) is participating in Middle East Energy 2026, which opened on Tuesday at the Dubai World Trade Centre and runs through 3rd September under the ministry’s patronage.

As part of its participation, the ministry has a dedicated pavilion showcasing key national initiatives, projects, and policies in the energy sector.

The ministry is highlighting the UAE’s efforts to develop the energy sector and enhance security of supply, expand clean and renewable energy sources, and improve energy and water consumption efficiency. It is also showcasing efforts to leverage advanced technologies and artificial intelligence to develop and enhance the efficiency of the energy system.

Eng Ahmed Al Kaabi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Electricity, Water, and Future Energy Sector at MoEI, said, “Middle East Energy provides an important platform for engaging with organisations, companies, and experts across the energy sector, exploring the latest technologies and solutions, and identifying areas of cooperation that support the UAE’s goals of developing a secure, sustainable energy system capable of meeting future growth and demand.”

Ministry of Finance adopts ‘Aani’, ‘Jaywan’ as new payment channels for federal service fees, fines

ABU DHABI, 3rd August, 2026 (WAM) — The Ministry of Finance has announced the adoption of “Aani” and “Jaywan” solutions as new payment channels for federal service fees and fines, making it the first federal government entity to implement the initiative. The move follows Cabinet Resolution No. (176M/4M) of 2026 concerning the adoption of the two systems and the fees applicable to their use.

The announcement paves the way for the adoption and rollout of both systems by other federal entities and collection banks, each in accordance with their approved procedures, reinforcing integration across the UAE Government’s payments ecosystem.

This initiative forms part of the Ministry of Finance’s ongoing efforts to further develop the government payments ecosystem and accelerate comprehensive digital transformation by providing more flexible, convenient and faster payment options, ultimately enhancing the customer journey across all federal entities.

UAE Ministry of Interior becomes first federal entity to achieve ISO AI Management Systems certification

ABU DHABI, 23rd May, 2026 (WAM) — The UAE Ministry of Interior has become the first federal and security entity in the country to receive the ISO 42001:2023 certification for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems.

The recognition highlights the ministry’s leadership in digital transformation and AI governance.

The certification was awarded by LRQA and covers the ministry’s role as an AI developer, provider, and user.

Officials said the achievement supports the UAE’s vision of building smarter and more efficient government services through advanced technologies.

Ministry of Climate Change and Environment expands services to support agriculture, livestock sectors

AL AIN, 23rd April, 2026 (WAM) — The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment is continuing efforts to enhance its service and legislative ecosystem to support the UAE’s agricultural and livestock sectors, a senior official said.

Mohammed Saeed Al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry, said the Ministry currently offers more than 80 services covering consumers, residents and investors, as well as foreign trade.

He told Emirates News Agency (WAM) that these services include issuing health certificates, exchanging licences, and facilitating import and export procedures related to food and livestock sectors.

The remarks were made during the Ministry’s participation in the second edition of the Emirates Agricultural Conference and Exhibition, which highlights innovation and advanced technologies in strengthening food security.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, extended his sincere condolences to the State of Qatar during a phone call with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, over the martyrdom of members of the Qatari Armed Forces.

The deceased were identified as Captain (Pilot) Mubarak Salem Dawai Al Marri; Captain (Pilot) Saeed Nasser Smeikh; Sergeant Fahad Hadi Ghanem Al Khayareen; and Corporal Mohammed Maher Mohammed, who were among the crew of a helicopter that crashed into Qatar’s territorial waters following a technical malfunction.

DUBAI, 23rd January, 2026 (WAM) — Dubai’s First-Time Home Buyer (FTHB) Programme is accelerating the path to home ownership for residents across the emirate, having already enabled over 2,000 residents to purchase their first home in the last 6 months and driving more than AED3.25 billion in residential property sales, according to the latest figures from the Dubai Land Department (DLD).

Launched in July 2025, the FTHB Programme was developed jointly by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and DLD to make home ownership more accessible for residents of all nationalities and income levels by bringing together government partners, developers, and financial institutions to offer first-time buyers priority access to new projects, tailored mortgage solutions, and preferential pricing.

The Programme was developed in alignment with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, which aims to double the size of Dubai’s economy by 2033 and further consolidate its position as a leading global destination for talent.
